Support for Your Walk

Where to turn for an emergency, route planning, practical trail information, and corrections to this guide.

The right help depends on what is happening. An emergency, a route-planning question, a changed local service, and a correction to this website need different responses.

If this is an emergency

In Italy, call 112 for police, medical, fire, or mountain rescue emergencies.

Share your location as clearly as you can. Coordinates from an offline navigation app, the nearest town, the route or stage name, and the direction you were walking can all help.

This website is not a real-time trail-monitoring or emergency-response service. It does not monitor walkers and cannot dispatch help. Do not wait for a website reply in an emergency.

If you need help planning the walk

Start with the page that owns the decision:

Save the pieces you intend to use in My Plan, then keep the essentials available offline.

If something local has changed

Water points, opening hours, transport, lodging, and path conditions can change after a page is written. Verify anything safety-critical or reservation-critical with the current local or official source when possible.

The Places & Services map is a planning aid, not a guarantee that a service is open when you arrive.

If you found an error on this site

The Share Your Experience page explains what kinds of trail notes help and the current status of the moderated contribution path. Its submission form is paused for V1, so it does not collect or store a report today.

Do not send private information about hosts, pilgrims, or anyone who has not agreed to be named. For legal, privacy, or rights questions, use the contact path stated in the Privacy Policy.

Before you need support

Preparation makes help easier:

  • carry a charged phone and backup power;
  • keep essential route and lodging details offline;
  • know the route, stage, and nearest place;
  • tell someone your expected finish;
  • keep an alternative for a day that becomes unsafe or impractical.

Asking for help, shortening a day, or changing the plan is part of walking responsibly.
