Ending at one of the best-loved towns in Italy, this short stage travels among farms and then up into forests as it crosses a ridge to make its way to the hometown of St Francis. Perhaps the most challenging portion is the steep climb in the last 1km before town. Start early so you have more time to enjoy Assisi and its many spiritual and scenic delights.
