Bibbiena to La Verna is the final ascent to Monte Penna, moving from the Casentino valley floor into the Casentinesi Forest Park and up to the sanctuary. It is the route’s most identity-defining segment, where Apennine landscape and devotional destination converge. Careful energy and weather management is essential: dry heat in summer and possible cold/ice at altitude from late autumn to early spring.
